Hello fellow brides and Missourians! My name is Kaitlyn and I am a part-time Bridal Consultant at Belle Mariée and a full-time student at Mizzou. Although I’m an English major, this will actually be my first stab at writing a blog; it may take me a while to get used to writing about things I like, as opposed to the stimulating essays about the works of Shakespeare and Chaucer I’m currently working on in class. This blog will be mostly composed of topics about the bridal industry, along with my own journey of planning my wedding!
Before I get started, let me tell you a few things about myself. I got engaged to my wonderful fiancé in August of 2014 on top of Pikes Peak in Colorado. Since then, I have chosen my wedding date, venue, bridal party, and my theme and colors. This might seem a little presumptuous, since my wedding date is actually a whopping 18 months away… Thanks to Pinterest, Etsy, and other bloggers, my entire wedding is practically planned already; all I have left to do is slowly buy and/or make everything.
It is my hope that my journey and experiences will help you all achieve a smooth ride on your bridal journey as well. On top of doing my own research of Columbia and other Mid-MO vendors, every Wednesday I will do one DIY wedding project; although I may sometimes make items for my own wedding, these projects will be easy to replicate yourself for your wedding theme and colors.
As I conclude the end of my very first blog post, I want to express my deepest gratitude to my wonderful boss, Jessica Card, for letting me apart of the team at Belle Mariée and writing this blog! When I first stepped foot into Belle Mariée, I couldn’t believe that such a boutique could exist in Columbia. I have not only found my dream job, but also the place that I will buy my wedding dress this coming fall! If you haven’t perused the dresses in Belle Mariée, we always love having visitors come take a look around!
